Tournaments


St. Anne School is looking for Boys and Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity "B" teams to attend their 10th Annual Miracles in March Basketball Tournament at St. Anne School. The Tournament will begin on February 22, 2018 and will conclude the week of March 16, 2018. It will be a double elimination format over three weekends. Entry Fee is $170.00 per team, (up to 12 players, 2 coaches add $5 per additional player/coach), please make checks payable to St. Anne Athletic Association, and mail to St. Anne School, 4040 Willow Avenue, Castle Shannon, PA 15234, ATTN: Nick Waskiewicz-Tournament Director. The JCC of Greater Pittsburgh will host the 3rd Annual Spring Shootout Tournament March 8 through 18h at the JCC in Squirrel Hill. There will be both Boys and Girls Divisions for 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades and it is open to both "A" and "B" teams (pools will be organized by classification whenever possible) from public and private schools from around the Pittsburgh area. Teams are guaranteed 3 games and the entry fee for all grade levels is $225 per team. Individual and Team Championship Awards provided. The 12th Annual All Sports Enterprises (ASE) Basketball Tournaments will be held from March to May at various tri county locations for all boys and girls teams in 4th grade to 11th grade. Blessed Trinity Academy invites you to the inaugural Bernie Easley/James Soeder Classic basketball tournament for developmental boys & girls, 5th grade boys & girls, and 7th grade boys & girls. Northside Catholic School in Pittsburgh, PA will be hosting their 50th Annual Basketball Tournament for Diocesan JV Girls and JV Boys. Public School teams (5th and 6th grades) are welcome to join us. Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 7 and concludes on March 18, 2018. The Tournament winning teams will receive a Team trophy and championship t-shirts for each player. Second place will receive finalist T-shirts for each player. Additionally, a free throw and hot shot contests with trophies and t-shirts going to the winners.  $150 per team, minimum of 2 games guaranteed. Holy Trinity will be holding their annual ‘Preview’ Boys Basketball Tournament(s) beginning on Monday, March 12. There will be a bracket for both the Varsity and JV levels. Please see attached for full details. - Flyer

Camps


Each year CYO recommends summer overnight basketball camps conducted in a safe environment. We have examined and evaluated these camps for Cost, Expertise in Instruction, Amount of Games, Tournaments, Improvement, Facilities, and 24 Hour around-the-clock supervision. The camps on the attached flyer have continued to be approved and recommended by the CYO as overnight camps that have the highest level of skill development that will improve each individual to their fullest potential and prepare them to be a future High School player. The recommended camps are listed as the best instructional camps concentrating on the fundamentals of basketball. Keystone State Overnight Summer Camps are intensive skills camps with high powered individualized skill training guaranteed to advance player skills to the next level. More instruction than any Point Guard or Big Man Camp. Camps are held at Edinboro University June 29-July 1 and at Slippery Rock University July 22-25. Campers are housed in air conditioned suites with private bathrooms. All coaches have criminal back round clearances and supervise campers 24/7. Basketball Stars of America, the AAU leader in Western PA, will be holding its 2018 Spring AAU Basketball Tryouts for Boys & Girls in 1st to 12th Grade throughout February and March at locations in Wexford, Canonsburg, Bethel Park, and Monroeville. Saints Peter and Paul School in Beaver, PA will be hosting their 18th Annual JJV Basketball Tournament for JJV girls and JJV boys teams starting on Tuesday, March 6 thru Sunday, March 11, 2018. Team and individual trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams. 3rd grade division with medals for 1st and 2nd place teams (if enough interest/teams). Team free throw shooting contest with awards. Food, music, raffles and much more. $150 for one team, $125 for second team (from same school), $100 for third team or more (from same school). Single elimination with minimum of 2 games guaranteed. Holy Cross Academy is continuing the tradition from St. Theresa and hosting a boys & girls 3rd & 4th grade developmental tournament February 28th- March 11th. There will be a separate 3rd grade only division and a 3/4th grade division. Boys tournament runs February 28th - March 4th and girls runs March 7th - March 11th (no games on either Thursday). Special Events


The annual Quigley Classic Basketball Showcase is set for Saturday, April 7, 2018. Information about the nomination process will be sent out to individual schools to nominate players to play in our Classic Basketball Games. We ask that the top two 6th grade JV Student Athletes and the top two 8th grade Varsity Student Athletes for both boys and girls be represented in our annual Quigley Classic Basketball Showcase.
